bad hair .today I got my hair dye it was suppose to come out red with hightlight , it came out dark brown and?

black , and I will be going to fiesta ths weekend ,the person works at a salon but did at home ..she tried fixing it and tried to convince me that it was red ..it isnt and it not going to get lighter ,I tried calling her to no availibilty ...of course ,does any one know of ay home remides ...

Ok first .... when you go from black to a lighter color you are supposed to apply a lightening treatment FIRST and then move to the color you are wanting. You can fix this and you have a couple options.

First because I am not exactly sure how dark the brown of your hair is right now I am going to suggest this as the option for you..... However the chemicals that you will be using on your hair on top of what you have already used will require major conditioning so you can revamp your hair back to a healthy state (see bottom for the conditioning treatment I recommend).

Here is what you need to do grab: Clairol Nice 'n Easy Born Blonde (this is the lightener, get the regular not he maxi) next you want your dye, I would recommend L'oreal Feria color 67 cardinal.

Do the lightning kit and make sure you get past the orange phase .... your hair will go through a color scale as you color and the biggest issue is people follow the time on the box instead of watching their hair to see when they get past the orange. Next you apply the hair dye and you need to watch the color again change from the orange .....Rinse when the orange is gone and you see your hair darken to the red color you are wanting (highly unusual for this to take more than an hour). Using the lightener first will allow you to keep natural highlights in your hair, however after you have the red color you want if the subtle highlights are not as noticeable as you'd like you can grab a Loreal chunking kit, but please wait until you have followed the conditioning treatments below for a month then you can highlight if you need to, and again with this make sure it is not in the orange phase but has gone to the blonder side when you highlight.

Use the dye conditioner in the box ( the hair color I recommended comes with special conditioner to keep your hair the right color, and to keep it from fading etc) and then start the following routine to repair and protect your hair: Use an oil treatment (V05 has a great oil treatment) you can find it at any drug store. Saturate your hair with the oil (usually need more on the ends of your hair). Grab a hot damp towel and wrap your hair up, leave it on for 15 minutes or so then rinse with cold water.......3 minute miracle is a conditioner that works "miracles :P " on dry hair, it is by Aussie and hydrates very well. I would switch to an Olive oil shampoo and invest in some spray-in leave-in conditioner .... Biolage is a great product line and you can purchase it at the salon. Oil treatments should be done once a week for a month and you will see a major difference in your hair. 2-4 times a month in general....

If you can not get to the store for the oil treatment, use Olive oil in it's place.

Do the oil treatment then after that use the 3 minute miracle...... after that rinse and do not wash your hair for 2 days, this allows the natural oils from your scalp to reach from root to tip and this helps your hair heal on it's own....after 2 days shampoo with the above product(s).

Now the other option you have is to go to your local beauty supply store and get a tenting shampoo. (Sally beauty supply is a great store if you have one close to you) ask the clerk at he store where this shampoo is and grab the one for red hair.... you will have to shampoo several times leaving the shampoo on for 15-20 minutes then rinsing, it will take a while to get he red color into your hair but it will slowly work. This tenting product is sometimes available in conditioner as well, and if they have it I would grab that as well and use both or switch and every other wash use one or the other.
