Changing the neck of a American Special Telecaster?
I am currently shopping around for an electric guitar. I have been an acoustic guy up until this point, but am ready to dive into what I can do with an electric. I love the new American Special Telecaster, and am pretty sure this is what I want to go with. The problem is I really am not a fan of the maple necks, and would very much prefer rosewood. I just don't know enough about whether or not this will ruin the overall sound of the guitar. Any information that can be given will be greatly appreciated.

No it will not ruin the sound of the guitar. Fender puts rosewood fretboards on several of their guitars. Many models come with a choice of a maple or rosewood fretboard. I do think that all the necks Fender makes are maple, it is just the fretboard that changes.
If it is not the fretboard, but the actual maple neck that you do not like, that does present a bit of a problem. I don't think Fender makes Tele necks in anything other than maple. For instance, they do not make a mahogany neck like Gibson does. There are other necks that could be used to replace the Fender (maple) neck, but Strat necks won't fit (if they fit a Fender Strat). Strat have rounded corners on the heel of the neck and Tele has squared corners.
Hopefully, it is just the fretboard that you do not want in maple. You will be able to pick up a Tele neck with a rosewood fretboard fairly easily.
