Sorry for my absence. Life happens and all that jazz. A lot has been happening. I went back to Ohio to visit friends and family. The best part of that visit was seeing all of my nephews, niece, and all of my friend's kids. Watching my Goddaughter, Kamryn, climb up the fabricated rock wall and go down the curly slide for the first time was the highlight of that entire trip. While I was gone, Geek moved in. That's right. I now have a live in. It's been good. We laugh a lot. A week ago, we went on a car camping tour of Southern Colorado. What a beautiful place it is. 4th of July weekend we're doing the same. Next weekend we have to work the Boulder Food and Wine Fest (read as, "we have to go drink wine and eat a lot while mingling"). It's rough, eh?I've also been on two backpacking trips since my return to Colorado. I have more in the making, but not until the 2nd weekend of July. I'll do a little exploration of Indian Peaks Wilderness, which happens to be in my back yard. :)So, I'm working on compiling pictures and writing trip reports from the last few weeks. Bare with me just a bit longer. I need to get back into the swing of things. I also want to say 'thank you' to all you folks who have signed my guest book. Dixie, thanks for the compliment. :) Zeke, I can't wait to see you in August.I'm off for now. Hoping to have my most recent TR up tomorrow night. Fingers crossed.
Memories cast a shadow on our lives.Memories cast a light and a glow on our futures.Contrasting forever our feelings; Our desires.Walls hold all of those memories,Crying into a great river below.A canyon of emptiness,A great chasm of fear.A piece of us was left behind,Next to a lonely tree on a rock shelf.A piece of us can foever be found, As part of the sparce Earth and cactus.Tears have been cried,Tears are still shed,Over what was left,In that deep chasm of our lives. The need to be heldand to be comforted during this time,Never came. What we got was quite unexpected,An out reach from friends and familyWe have yet to meet and those we have met.Formed were stronger bonds that can never be broken.
Well, I was supposed to do an overnight trip this weekend in Lost Creek Wilderness, but my partner wants to ski. So, my plans have gone up in smoke.
Add to that the fact that Geek and I puked our brains out for 2 days due to food poisoning at Denny's in Boulder, well, it makes for not such a great week.
So, Geek is preparing to head to UT to spend the weekend tearing up the Kokopelli Trail or some like jeep trail near Moab. My computer is still at his place and I'm not sure when he's going to be available for me to pick it up. Hopefully before tonight. I'd like to have something to do this evening, now that I feel like doing something other than sleeping.
Still waiting to hear back from him.
Now to drum up something to do this weekend. I know Chico (one of Green Hornet's friends from the AT) is coming through town at some point. I'll be putting him up for at least a night. Other than that, everything is rather up in the air.
Oh, and a bed. I'll be buying a bed. The exciting life of Cheryl.
