How do i get started on becoming a writer?
I'm a 21 year old male who wants to become
a full-time writer for a living.I have some great ideas for books,
screenplays,teleplays,etc but i don't know where to start or
how to start.If i want to be a book author how can i get a
publishing deal or a company to publish my books.
and if i decide to write a screenplay for a movie is
there anyone i can sent it to look at and review?
Do i have to be apart of the Writer's Guild or not?
Can some explain to me how all of this works?
Before anything you need to do some actual writing. It's great to have ideas, but if you aren't writing, you will never do it for a living. Write every day. Set yourself a goal for the day and meet it. Do some research online for book publishers. Get an idea for the type of writing you want to do and search out publishers for the genre/topic you're interested in. You don't have to be part of a writer's guild to become a writer.
Check out sites like LauraHird.com, writerswrite.com and others like that. You're going to have to start small and work you're way up. But write if you want to write.
