i want to start recording?
in the room i keep my drums, guitar, and bass but i cant exactly sing (my singing voice would be average but my skill is a 0) to well so would vocal lessons help me at all? and what program can i get (i don't really like audacity it crashes all the time on me) I'm 16 but i don't plan on actually getting any of this done for another year or 2 but when i do start what order should i record in (with drums, lead guitar, rhythm guitar, bass and vocals)
If you've got a big enough board, recording live with everything at once is the easiest way. Get all the music recorded before you record vocals, maybe save solos until later too.
Otherwise, always get the drums done first. This is mostly just an issue of being able to hear the recording you're playing to through headphones. Drums are too loud to be able to hear anything right, but you can wire your guitar to another room while you record and be able to hear the drums in the headphones just fine.
So I guess the order would be drums, bass and rhythm guitar, lead then vocals.
